Traveling is fun and exciting! But our skin sometimes don’t like the change. Stress, different weather, and new environments can make our skin look and feel not so great. That’s why travel skincare is important. Taking care of your skin while traveling is just as important as taking care of it at home. Nowadays, many people love to travel but they also want to look their best. Let’s talk about some tips and products that can help during your travels. I’ll share my thoughts and reviews too!
First thing first, before you go, know the weather of the place you are visiting. If it’s hot and sunny, you might need more sunscreen and lighter products. In cold places, heavier creams are better. This way, you only take what you need and save space in your luggage. It also helps your skin feel comfortable.
Big bottles take up space and can be heavy. Luckily, many brands have travel-sized versions of their products. These are perfect for the suitcase or backpack. You can find mini versions of almost anything: moisturizer, sunscreen, and shampoo. If you can’t find travel size, use small containers to make your own. It’s cheaper too!
We all have a lot of skincare products at home, but on a trip, try to take only what’s necessary. A good rule is to pack a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. These three are the basics. If you have space and need, add serums or eye cream. Remember, skin likes routine, so use what works for you.
One cleanser I always bring is the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. It’s so light and perfect for sensitive skin. It’s not too foamy and washes off easily. I also love Neutrogena’s Foaming Cleanser, it’s great for after a day of exploring and sweating.
When I travel, I choose moisturizers based on the weather. The Clinique Moisture Surge is a fantastic choice for dry planes and cold places. When I travel to tropical, humid areas, a light gel cream like Laneige Water Sleeping Mask works wonders. It feels like water on your skin!
Oh, sunscreen! Never travel without it. The sun can hurt your skin, even when you can’t see it. I prefer the La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50. It’s not greasy and doesn’t leave a white cast. I also keep a spray form for quick reapplication during my hikes or city tours.
There are extra things I sometimes take with me, like a good exfoliator. The texture of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub makes my skin smooth. On flight days, I also carry a facial mist. It’s refreshing and wakes your skin up during long flights!
Travel can often disturb our regular skincare routine. It’s tough to follow every step when you are on the road, so sometimes I miss my night serum or my weekly face mask. But it’s important to not stress too much. Doing something is better than nothing. On some days, just cleaning and moisturizing is enough.
When traveling, I carry my skincare products in a small, clear bag. It helps if the airport needs to check it. Plus, if anything leaks, it’s not all over my clothes! Important tip: try to use ziplock bags. They are lifesavers and keep all in one place.
I used to ignore skincare while traveling. I thought it’s not that important, but my skin would disagree with me. I learned over time that staying diligent, even while traveling, helps a lot! My skin thanks me for it. And to be honest, when your skin feels good, travel is even more fun! You feel confident and ready to take on adventures.
Traveling should be about fun and making memories, not about worrying if your skin is okay. Enjoy the new culture, try delicious foods, and make loads of memories, but don’t forget to care for your skin too. Safe travels and happy skin-caring!
